Nutrition Vitamins: How to Incorporate More Vitamin D into your Diet?

Posted by admin as nutrition vitamins

The natural sources to get Vitamin D are relatively limited, especially for vegetarians and vegans.

Fish has the best knock for your money when it comes to vitamin D. As said by the National Institutes of Health Office of Dietary Supplements, one tablespoon of cod liver oil has 1,360 IU. But if that scheme makes you choke, pieces of fish, cooked or raw, are good sources as well. Cooked salmon (3.5 ounces) has 360 IU of vitamin D, while the equal serving size of cooked mackerel has 345 IU. Canned fish, like tuna and sardines, are also fine sources of vitamin D. Eggs also contain vitamin D, but pack a much smaller amount at 20 IU. But note down that it is found in the yolk, so beating up an egg white omelet will do you no good when it comes to vitamin D.

The other foods sources are equipped with vitamin D. Ready-to-eat cereals have an typical of 40 IU per serving, while D-fortified nonfat or low-fat milk has 100 IU per cup. Some products of yogurt, margarine, and cheese are also fortified with D, so pay attention when you are in the dairy section.

For a long time, the meat-and-dairy-based sources of vitamin D made the nutrient nearly unfeasible for vegetarians and vegans to find in food. But now, different trade names of soy milk come stocked with vitamin D. According to the USDA, one cup of D-fortified soy milk has between 97 and 114 IU, depending on whether it’s unsweetened, light, vanilla, or chocolate. When uncovered to UV rays, mushrooms can also be loaded in vitamin D. Some branded mushrooms are ripened in the sun, rather than in the dark, like most mushrooms, so that they have vitamin D.

Since we could all use to obtain a little more vitamin D, you can include some recipes that are as appetizing as they are healthy and also high in vitamin D.

Nutrition Vitamins: Vitamin B5 has no Connection with Acne Treatment

Posted by admin as nutrition vitamins

While it has been commonly recognized that the food you consume does not have a direct association with your mounting acne, let us see whether nutrition vitamins supplements have any part to play in healing acne.

Unluckily, the picture is not very heartening. So if you are an acne victim and thought that this was one more way in which you could take care of your condition, you are likely to be upset.

Vitamin supplements and acne are not such a good proposal. Before you jump to endings, it would be better not to analyze the issue of acne in black and white, because there are shades of gray too. How come, you might say? Well, here is how it works.

You may already know that acne is caused by a hormonal inequity in the system. Your body has a natural body mechanism for regulating hormones. This mechanism can only function successfully you are taking in all the necessary nutrients, which, naturally, include vitamins also.

However, there is no magical solution so do not get the thought that if you have acne, popping a couple of pills will do the trick. If only it were so easy but it is not. For any vitamin to have a favorable effect on your acne, it will have to be part of a much bigger picture.

Vitamin B5 is a lethal choice for acne. There is a popular concept that supplements of Vitamin B5 are effective in curing acne. But do not make the blunder of falling for it, or you are likely to regret it for a long time. The truth is that it has been proven that Vitamin B5 or pantothenic acid, taken in high doses, can be tremendously damaging to your health. Vitamin B5 does not have any effect in improving the condition of an acne occurrence.

Worse still, you could find yourself burdened with horrible side effects, such as nausea, chronic fatigue and loss of energy. Do you in fact think it is worth sacrificing your health for the sake of thrashing an acne problem? You may disagree that even if there is an overload of Vitamin B5, eventually it will pass out of your system. That is completely true but while it is there, it’s wreaking destruction. Do you think you would like to threat so much for acne?

Paying the price for treating acne. B Vitamins are believed to work together in the correct amounts to maintain the health of your system. If this does not go on, they will not have the effect they are supposed to. So if you take in an excess of Vitamin B5 in the faith that it will cure your acne, all you will have is a new crisis on your hands as your body struggles to deal with.

In the meantime, the surplus Vitamin B5 proceeds to eat up the reserves of other B vitamins in your system such as Vitamins B3, B6 and B12, all of which have their own functions to execute. So do not make this oversight on any account or you will live to regret it.

There are many safer treatment options for acne. You will be pleased to know that the story does not quite end here. Because there is a much safer substitute to Vitamin B5 or pantothenic acid. You could try taking pantethine instead. This is also Vitamin B5, but a form of the vitamin that is much more simply absorbed into the body. Even if this seems to be the answer to your acne problem, keep in mind that you should not take more than 1 to 11/2g /day.

Even if you are sure that your acne problem has come about as a result of a scarcity of Vitamin B5, the small dose mentioned above will be more than enough to set you right. This is no time to be brave and try to take your acne problem on by yourself.

Nutrition Vitamins! Reasons & Indications of Vitamin Deficiency and How to Correct Them?

Posted by admin as nutrition vitamins

The majority of Americans suffers from as a minimum one vitamin deficiency, but don’t even realize it. It’s easy to misrepresent that fatigue as not getting adequate sleep, or attribute the weak hair to stress. It’s a rising problem, however, and it helps to know what you are seeking so you can live a better life.

What are Reasons for Vitamin Deficiency?

The SAD (Standard American Diet) is one of the more diverse diets on the earth. We have access to a range of different foods that it should be easy to obtain all or most of the vitamins we necessitate. Unhappily, so many foods are processed that they have lost the greater part of their nutrients. Some of the most significant vitamins are replaced, which is why you’ll find cereals and milk that are fortified with things like iron, Vitamin A and Vitamin D. What many don’t recognize is that there are far more vitamins and minerals that are necessary in order for our bodies to perform well.

Even if you consume well, plenty of fresh fruit and veggies, it can be hard to cover all the bases and it’s not unusual even for those who pay careful attention to their diet to be missing in one or more vitamins.

How to Correct a Vitamin Deficiency?

While the perfect solution would be to consume the perfect combination of foods to get the correct amount of vitamins, it isn’t very convenient in today’s wild world. Most people just don’t have the time to carefully plan and source their meals for highest vitamin absorption. Eating right is certainly a step in the right way, but you will possibly need to use nutrition vitamin supplements, as well.

Vitamin supplements can be purchased independently or in multi-vitamins. If you just want to be sure that you are getting a good mix of vitamins, then the multi is a good option. However, for those who are receiving what they need in their diet and are only lacking in one or two things, then the individual vitamins supplements can be the way to go. This allows you to mold the mix to fit your personal needs.

What are Signs of Vitamin Deficiency?

While every vitamin has its own problems brought on by its scarcity, there are some common indications that you need to take a look at a multi-vitamin. When your body doesn’t get the nutrition it needs, you’ll find that you are exhausted, even after sleeping a full night. Fatigue is a very frequent symptom of a scarcity. Too much hair loss, skin rashes and anemia are also symptoms that you are missing something.

When the body is short in one or more vitamins, the immune system is regularly compromised, as well. This means that ailments like a simple cold or the flu will tend to last longer than usual and you may find that you are more flat to infections than usual. If you pay attention to your body, you will observe if something is wrong.

Vitamin A: When you are short in this vitamin, eye problems appear. First, night sightlessness and dry eyes, then more brutal issues point out problems. In countries where Vitamin A is not available readily, people can even go sightless from lack of it. In kids, a scarcity could be visible with a failure to grow properly.Vitamin B: There are more than a few vitamins included in this group. B1 reasons beriberi in its deficiency, a disease that results in muscle weakness and brain damage. Be short of B2 can cause hair loss, ulcers in the mouth and on the skin, rashes and itchiness, among other signs.

If you don’t have sufficient B3, you could grow pellagra, which generally presents itself in the form of stomach problems and diarrhea, with rashes caused by the sun. Insufficient vitamin B5 and you’ll suffer from fatigue, nausea, headaches and tingling in the hands and feet. Vitamin B6 insufficiency usually results in anemia, feelings of dizziness and loss of hair.

Vitamin B9, also recognized as folic acid, is particularly significant for women of child-bearing age. A lack of it during pregnancy could cause spina bifida in the unborn child or miscarriage. B12 is another key vitamin, without which you suffer from the same symptoms as B5 shortage.Vitamin C: It’s quite rare to find a deficiency in Vitamin C, since so many processed foods are already fortified, but taking additional means your immune system will be stronger. Signs that you are lacking in this vital vitamin include fatigue, bleeding gums and slow recovery of wounds.

Vitamin D: The lack of this vitamin has been named as a cause of certain types of cancer, such as breast and colon cancer. Less cruel symptoms of shortage include twitching muscles, sleep issues (particularly in small kids), pain in the joints and osteoporosis.Vitamin E: Not enough Vitamin E generally results in eye problems, particularly a limit to how far you can move your eyes upwards. Severe scarcity could result in loss of sight. Lack of this vitamin can also source fertility issues, miscarriages, as well as problems with the liver, brain and bone marrow.

Vitamin K: Anyone low on this vitamin will discover that they bruise easily and lean to bleed more than normal with small cuts and scratches. Repeated nosebleeds could be a mark that you are low on Vitamin K.

Even if you think that you get adequate of each vitamin that might not be right. Some foods, such as carbonated drinks, act as barriers, preventing the absorption of certain vitamins, so while you may be ingesting sufficient, your body might not be really absorbing the whole thing. This is one area that multi-vitamins take care of well, since they have the best mix of vitamins to improve the actual absorption.

To stay muscular and healthy, it’s vital to let your body have what it necessitates. Vitamin deficiencies are often mild in Western countries, but they do have an effect on the quality of life and when it’s something so easy to treat, why not repair the problem?

If you think there is something wrong inside or with your body, be sure to speak with your doctor to correct the vitamins deficiencies.

Nutrition Vitamins! Vitamins to Reduce Spontaneous Abortion Risks

Posted by admin as nutrition vitamins

Taking vitamins prior to and during early pregnancy is linked with reduced risk for miscarriage or spontaneous abortion, researchers have concluded. However, it may be that the relationship is related to commonly healthy practices among vitamins users.

According to Dr. Reem Hasan, from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill; these findings need to be replicated before official conclusions are drawn.

He also strongly recommends the vitamins supplements for women who are pregnant, or are planning to become conceive, are designed mainly at reducing the risk of birth complications. His research provides proof that vitamins may also shrink the risk of miscarriage.

Hasan and his team interviewed 4752 women, between 2000 and 2008 during their first trimester of pregnancy to find out their consumption of prenatal vitamins and multi-vitamins. On the whole, 95% of the women confirmed using prenatal vitamins or multivitamins sometime during the first three months of pregnancy. About half the women reported using vitamins prior to conception. There were 524 miscarriages or spontaneous abortions among the subjects. The studies found that the threat for miscarriage was 57 % lower among women who consumed vitamins, unlike those who did not.

Hasan and colleagues noted that this lower risk was not modified by other factors including age, hormone use, the number of prior pregnancies, smoking habits, race/society, educational level, and matrimonial status,  As spontaneous abortion happens very early in pregnancy, it is essential for women of reproductive age, who may become pregnant, to consume a balanced diet and use vitamins.

However, the study was powerless to account for nutritional factors or healthy lifestyle behaviors, and did not distinguish between prenatal vitamin and multivitamin use. Therefore, Hasan’s group believes in more investigations into how these factors might correct miscarriage risk by the use of other nutrients and vitamins.

Nutrition Vitamins – Multi-Vitamin Supplements Can Reduce Colon Cancer Risk

Posted by admin as nutrition vitamins

A very new research states that there is a connection between smaller colon cancer rates and the use of vitamins A, E, C calcium, potassium and folic acid. The study has revealed that long-term vitamins use could decrease the threat of colon cancer by 57%.

This study was made on a crowd made of over 500 women and men between the ages of 33 and 62 who were diagnosed with colon cancer. They were cross-examined about the amount of vitamins they took before they found out their diagnosis. The patients were asked a lot of questions about the dosage, frequency, and length of the vitamins they took. Two classifications were made: multi-vitamin packs token once a day and high concentration packs. The study showed that the most of the patients who took the multivitamin packs took the high potency supplements as well.

Most of the studies that predate this one have the same opinion that the risks of colon cancer are really reduced by using vitamin supplements but none of them was able to name the specific components of the vitamins that are responsible for this. Antioxidant vitamin and folic acid rich vegetables and fruits are famous for lowering the colon cancer risks, but yet again no particular components of these foods were acknowledged.

An increase in the fruit and vegetable eating rate was tried by numerous educational programs but none of them had a real achievement. It is recommended to consume at least five different types of these fruits and vegetables, but in the current society the ingestion of these foods decrease year by year. Society is being overwhelmed by the fast food industry. These foods are very rich in carbohydrates that are very dreadful for the health, particularly for people that have a risk of developing colon cancer. Fast food aliments have a very low vitamin and protein substance but it seems that the American society became addicted to them. And it’s not just the children who want these foods, more and more adults start eating only these junk food products.

Knowing the modern society, the researchers of colon cancer suggest supplementing the diet with multi-vitamin packs rather than eating fruits and vegetables because they hope it will be more tempting to the general public.

Nutrition Vitamins Vitamin D3 Effects on Skin Cancer

Posted by admin as nutrition vitamins

Higher serum levels of vitamin D3 were linked with a reduced threat of non-melanoma skin cancer, researchers reported here.

Serum vitamin D3 levels of 30 ng/ml or more were associated with a 45% lower rate of basal cell carcinoma, compared to the rate at the lowest vitamin D3 level, Jean Tang, M.D., from Stanford University Medical Center, in Stanford, Calif., stated at the Society for Investigative Dermatology meeting.

Jean explains that there was also a trend towards compact occurrence of skin cancers in this group over the five year study period.

Dr. Tang and her coworkers analyzed data from the Osteoporotic Fractures in Men Study (MrOS), which included fit, ambulatory men 65 and older, from 6 medical sites across the United States.

A subgroup of 1,108 study participants provided self-reported information about basal cell carcinoma at baseline, and then five years afterward.
